shadow rain calms the summer earth

violet streaks across the midnight sky

from ashes we return to the summer dream

strangers burning bins and raising hell

dawn dragging the shadow through mud

rolling boil mushrooms slither down throats

before dusk watch rust bloom on iron limbs

burying the summer dream in bedsheets

drop on fours be the thing you were meant to be
