in the space between the silent river and this body a grey heron appears
Month: March 2023
winter in its talons the eagle flies into the dawning sun
the spring river barely disturbed by the eagle’s dive
soft enough to fail spring clouds drift apart
closer to flesh closer to the ground the clouds come down
sleepy faces smothered by the mist at dawn
equinox crows murder what’s left of winter
over hot coffee we relive the tundra
this flesh the culmination of warmth and frost and empty
bodies ply the streets with the burden of winter’s past
