to the place where shadows are birthed

a moment of clarity in the deep

bodies glide through still waters

a mind of its own the concrete landscape

burrow and deepen

pond edge my shadow skinny dips

pond shadows dance for the winter moon

scattered powder like stars on black quartz

breaking winter’s spell on our limbs
