summer dusk the bitter end of holding on
Month: July 2023
melancholy is the game we play come bare me your soul
the temptation to slip into dark water depths and be free
the kindness of your eyes need i say more
summer thoughts burst into flames in the morning light
trail of black feathers that lead the feet across grey tiles
robes unsheathed to reveal night’s skin and scales
pagans of the frail flesh performing soft rites
such is humanity’s delight in denying our mortality
the river grey reminds us that we are still flesh and blood
