the first kind word is said and now the oceans swell with pride
winter like a necrotic spell burns slow in our bones
will darkness remember its role after we’ve left this world for the next
the riot of tides in the absence of the winter moon
mid dream the biting cold interrupts a blissful sleep
the sun dies a slow death each winter day keeping the bridge of light lit for cold souls to cross over into paradise
aren’t we all illusions of a greater drama
missing the nights where time trails after the whispers in smoke
in a different life cat and i watching the winter clouds roll by
