autumn noon i pick a face from the tree and wear it with utmost care
flesh just barely surviving in a watered down version of peace
how quickly the ego forgets that it is wrapped in flesh
late noon the thunderstorm and so much more to fear
after dusk we table our insides and feed on our emotions
tourists mesmerized by the haze the death of your lungs
the forest has a different tale to tell after the rain
