waking from fire and stepping into the void
cold winds flow with predatory grace late into the morning
winter after dawn i wake only to find that the forest has moved on
we are bearers of the void accept that within the hollow of flesh and bone are caves of silence
the cup grows warm with magic and time pauses for a sip
windows remember older skies and oblivion’s anthem sings in the wind
in bed and the stillness of cold ocean feet
soul of winter stones feel lighter than memory
dark paths blur and balance is an act assumed by intuition
