the conversation with waves we never seem to win
dead and gone the stares of empty shells as we walk past
walking the winter coast screams lost at sea
finding meaning in the abyss the depth of your gaze
lay the haiku bare to examine its bones and merely words
amidst the chaos on stage we prance about on delicate toes
white dove have you come in peace or is that war in your wings
halfway through the conundrum of burning and yearning
we share our grief over a claw you shed gone cat never found
