palpitating pressure builds ready to explode and free itself from this prison of flesh
a no refund policy on the resident grey matter inside
we each pay a portion of our souls for the right to exist
before dawn making sense of ghastly scribbles on the wall
the saunter of pale flesh down stairs of iridescent lights
in the flicker of red blue blinkers the gecko’s tail spasms
the gentle return of whispers from lips to flame tipped tongue
a final missive from the moon as she fades into night’s abyss
as we begin to perceive peace the landscape melts
