allow the first light to consecrate grey matter
autumn night we inch forward on our bellies until worlds collide
this sinking feeling in the soul that spirals out of control
under bedsheets the treasures we find amongst cold limbs
dusk the eternal drizzle begs the question: why?
gaze beyond the rain curtain to find our true selves
repeat after me: flesh and bone, flesh and bone…
winged gods meld with the concrete abyss
the overcast sky undermining our faith in flesh
