the slow and serene darkening of sky and skin
closing the circuit of limbs electric in the air
raised hairs the static builds flesh to flesh
the breath of the forest grim in a flowing mist
curled in a corner at the back of bus the rain finds me
boards the bus with empty shells the noon rain
a strange stillness the river too has hardened into concrete
the conversation with the tree begins with a leaf fall
treetop canopies holding on as cold winds rage
