black butterfly wings beat hard in the blazing field
the river baits us with plastic and secret sermons
laughter of children warms the cold concrete
noon petrichor a loathing dream of grey miasma
barley soaked overnight a cup of fog
frail bodies at war with the morning light
pay attention else the river will lure you in
autumn emotions buried in the inbetween
dead fish in limbo neither river nor earth accepts its body
