waking after the livid dream the world cold and still
trade cold limbs for a night of sleep
bodies in the mud squirming with ecstasy
after dark the struggle to dream is real
damp earth faces filled with uncertainty
the mid autumn sun sinks into the mud
stage lights aren’t we all just shadows to eyes
the long strides of a shadow in the morning rain
eagle rips the grey to ribbons autumn noon
