damp field the lone stone’s penance
dark before dawn the gods gather to feel
after dark in pursuit of emptiness
the old world broken in an alley corner
winter night demands to play
revive cold limbs from deep sleep
dawn this mess of flesh and bedsheets
after the rain the grey strangles the living
