carefully carve the face of summer winds
summer winds rattle frail human things
summer by the doorway the old gods whisper
dusk the gold collides with the night
bear witness to the sudden stillness
after dark grappling with cold winds
summer ant climbs crumpled ridges of shirt
clear path for awhile some peace
never forever this cycle of grey and gold
