at first light: military boots trample tiny offerings of dew
an empty bamboo bowl placed beneath the moon gathers peaceful thoughts
paddy field: to the mystical eye a dragon spirit quietly tends to the saplings
swallows circle overhead when i think of home
summer after dark a strange hunger humbles this frail body
replace the stream stone with a kind word
the last moth of night dives into the fire its wings scattering the sparks of dawn
revel in the summer warmth of restless evenings
