beneath the facade of azure travelling rats
slipping into winter line waiting for a sign
garden of the old gods cold flowers sleep
rush hour train we rage against the gloom
winter crow shadow sneaks up from behind
old man fits into the silence puzzle solved
winter winds carry the smell of char
desert’s death cavity orphaned bodies bare
we struggle to make peace with the cold
