the self sustaining stain on my soul with each written word a painless pleasure
phantasmal candles flicker and phase at the divinity’s altar
the weight of prayer peels the cathedral revealing bones and sinew of living gods
a flower bursts open each petal a fractured sun devouring time and space
the debaucherous parade of flesh in stupor down moist streets
summer after dawn winds carry the voice of the hungry
the monolith breathes silence pilgrims touch the cold stone and vanish without a trace
waning moon moths eat at and die by the same light of summer
with each strike the hammer breeds sparks of molten insects
