the moon watches as pilgrims dissolve bread in warm milk to feed their faith
a rusted sigil sinks into soil made soft with borrowed light
the summer moon unbuttons and fire forgets its appetite
the river slows to a ripple when you stop believing
the sky forgets color and the morning silence decays
moth priests of summer feeding the fire in ritual sacrifice
