hypothesis: the city an evolving organism

passed down from time before: silence

smog rises to meet grey mist

snail graveyard the world slows down

autumn rain lures bodies to bed

after dark ghosts screaming at walls

the gin fills the void it’s mutual

beyond the drizzle voices in the dark

unburden the night body
