macro shot of a female, common scarlet, perched at the edge of a branch (Singapore, 2023)
shot with the Olympus TG6, pro capture mode

A waterhen explores the forest/ park amongst the tall grass and dense vegetation, curious little fellow was looking my way as I sat absolutely still. It was walking in my direction when something caught its attention and darted off into an undergrowth.
shot with the Olympus omd em1 mark 1, 75-300mm lens (2023, northwest Singapore)

macro shot of a grenadier dragonfly perched on rope (Singapore, 2023)
also known as the asiatic blood tail or scarlet grenadier
photographed with the Olympus TG6

A juvenile Malayan water monitor resting in a tree, on a late autumn afternoon. Never seen this species climb up trees before, a strange sight and one that caught my attention purely by luck.
Photographed with the Olympus omd em1, 40-150mm lens.
Location: Reservoir/ park northwest of Singapore
