dusk clouds char and burn trail of sky fire

train ride empty shells gazing into each other

bone deep cold winds crawl the flesh

light of the crescent the scar deepens

the dark gifts us its all without doubt or hate

sum of the universe spent in a single breath

before dawn egrets picking up human litter

spring city shackled to the earth in vines

shadows trade secrets under neon lights

spring winds escape damp from the rabbit hole
