burnt barriers the pulse quickens

the red gathers in her cheeks speak soft
spring we listen to the mynah’s mischief
casually reconnecting with past life tragedies
ship breaking sparks jumping the plank
pigeon shadow unmoving on lamppost
the sky splits open over blue and grey
streets bare none to listen to spring’s song
fold your madness tuck it into pockets
humans walk into the morning fire unscathed
