celestial bodies remind us of how insignificant we are

a different kind of darkness at dusk
before the eclipse the rain throws a tantrum
taking in a deep breath of river flies
like water under the bridge the seasons flow
sound of church bells bubbles to the river surface
define the spaces by the bodies that occupy them
the eyes of the birch follows the trail of smoke
the city rooster runs amok pillar to pillar looking high and low for its tail of feathers
backtracking only to find a feather under my foot
