crows watch the slavery of parrots with disgust

young sparrow calling out to its kin barren tree
parrots never flying far from birdman invisible strings
the housefly in the living room sees a thousand suns
her lips hint at cold gales to come
first light the night boards the bus back home
still in awe of fire the caveman in us never died
the mist overhead threatens to crush us
the godless man and the thunder at an impasse
after dark the storm refuses to sleep
