down by the river banks death fills the air

man machine and black clouds on a collision course
the hush from the curtains after dark
watches the sunrise alone barnacled rock
prewinter winds enunciating each sigh
streetlight the silent monologue of a ripped wing
field of dew the intense gaze of the autumn toad
trail run the soul divides between rain and forest
would you believe me if i told you that i died in the rain and was reincarnated under the stars
the skull reverberates with the force of the run and the beatdown of the storm
