glass eyes revisit and learn in this state of surveillance

there i’ve said it a deficit of dreams the last few nights
autumn dusk i take a moment to revise my madness
eye of the salamander more fiery than the noon sun
soft tones of pastel in the dusk sky for your eyes only
into the arms of the candle fire the night moth’s pilgrimage
belly on branch the drongo sings for the dissected
almost empty street crows picking apart the roadkill
allowing the gods to flow through this flesh autumn dawn
shadows pause for a moment and trail the smoke from incense
