this frail flesh: a haiku of sorts
walk into the night holding a shard of glass crimson at its tip
the silence of shadows still dreaming at sunrise
come now o sweet one drown with us in this stream of light
amused the kingfisher laughs at the faraway thunder
cold under the bridge from depths come shadows spring
once again the alarm has tripped let’s all pretend to sleep
this warm night reminds us of summertime debauchery
sitting on the tip of my shoe the yellow butterfly too begs for adventure
