in the city of greed we pocket what warmth we can find

balloon pop the oriole vanishes into the sun
the winter crow renounces all worldly ties
the city is a mute a ghost stranded in the murky straits
the rain pours as fingers trace the scars upon flesh
the city in tears silenced by poisonous fumes
it kills to remember of a time before the concrete
sailing downriver into oblivion the full moon
the winter cat watches as i consume the voices inside one by one
too sober to sleep the moon between the grey
