designed to serenade the autumn windsong
on her lap under a cardboard tree cool winds
silent drive sea eagle spirals into the gloom
the ghastly grey face of the morning storm
identities buried deep in the autumn storm
a mother’s hum drowns out the sound of rain
almost noon the tug of cold currents
cracks in the subconscious bleed walls
in the eternal stillness a leaf shudders
