the sun dies a slow death each winter day keeping the bridge of light lit for cold souls to cross over into paradise

aren’t we all illusions of a greater drama
missing the nights where time trails after the whispers in smoke
in a different life cat and i watching the winter clouds roll by
this winter day i give thanks to the sea and gods for the salt and bounty
silver fish rushing through the winter seas still carry a glint of the sun
unburdened by changing skies the flesh stands still against angry tides
in orbit of an abyssal anomaly fish shadows glide
quiet now the forest grim appoints a new god for winter
fleeing mist the winter hill bares it all for cruel eyes
