taste the auburn in the air leaves shedding the fires of summer
outside the window pigeon companion contemplates the coming winds of autumn
heavy eyelids remember the ways of deep sleep
mend the fractures of timespace with gentle nothingness
night’s mind drops a dark veil upon the earthen flesh
she sits in the cradle of green her pride swallowed by the peace
summer trail these trees barely remember the old gods
i keep a piece of paradise on me always until you believe otherwise
