icy labyrinth the lich pulls maggots from the brains of dead gods
a blacksmith wreathed in fire forges a melody of war for the mad king
the living alone understand the marrow deep grasp of winter
ghastly moths drink light from the eyes of dead royals
he laughs with the fangs of a wolf and wears the dreamy eyes of things forgotten
root to bone the kingdom blooms where he bleeds
some nights the clumsy moon spills silver light into the seas and all manner of fish swim drunk on too much soma
do not tell the dragon go gently into the night as wings combust and scales turn to angry ashes the new flame joins the old ones in a sacred dance in the graveyard of bonfires
full moon night a pond priest drowns with a smile knowing that along with his light some darkness has been culled from this world
