paper folded thrice the crescent that left the summer sky
in time the reckoning of limbs in time
small steps into the azure pool where the dark matter lies dormant
every last drop of my muse well spent well raged
summer noon i’ve come to terms now that my muse is dead
lime green butterfly resuscitates the lifeless soil bed
summer noon the stillness in the garden crushed our souls
the stench of flesh abhorrent consumed the ways of the wild
the trees uproot and the creatures crawl into hiding as if we were death incarnate
