clandestine eyes observe the flesh in ways you could never imagine
watchers in the dark do you see the light as I see it
first light some mouths have too much to say
pretty much a brain in a jar until the autumn sky calms
destruction is abstract until you focus on the blood and screams
i’ve settled for these innocent eyes and perfectly placed lips
the thunder out of nowhere derails the thought train
coffee at noon and the art of not dying
the dark moves on but the stragglers linger in limbo
