this summer night can no longer bear the weight our sighs
in the dark we sit and unearth the depths of our frailties
as shadows do after dark warm limbs writhe with renewed passion
unrecognizable is this summer the seasons have birthed
life. existence. matter. chaos the ringmaster cracks her whip
summer the rain irks the senses crawl away now
the truth is for the mind conditioned to behave as sheep do
fickle as the words that leap without second thought from this tongue
dusk the rain conjures somatic urges confined to the skin
