autumn winds urging the body to remember its name
and if i could i would like to live this beautiful life in a single line
writing this today in the hopes of finding it tomorrow
like fugitives on the run the words you’d utter in your sleep escaping dreams for reality
nine lives and more and still humans never learn do they
dusk we navigate the last of droplets to return flesh to cradle
death looks on curious as to what the infant mind might conjure
one seeks to understand death while the other seeks to touch it
between bedsheet changes the night moth dances across the veil
