through fingers the seas fall as waterfalls into the ocean
cold dawn hands dredge stars from the muddy straits
across the veil of rain eastbound shadows ferried
little wonder that death has touched us in some way
the sins of flesh minus the intellectual intricacies
rain eternal the flesh forgets its duty to this shell
winter coast the plastic persuasion of cold waves
the craven moon fleeing from the raging fires of first light
the winter forest has us locked in its unblinking gaze
