cigarette glow in the dark the purple cat in the corner takes a hard drag
soft whispers in the dark until the rain pours heavy on dark bodies
along the trimmed edge of darkness bodies establish a false sense of connection
tender the empty space for this flesh has sinned and will sin again
fingers sober playing a game of touch and go in the dark before dawn
sheets of rain fall in rhythm until the void is filled
the crack of the whip urging fires to devour flesh and wood
a light gust lifts pollen and petals now falling gently to earth
watch as i drift across distant fields searching seeking warmth
