amused the kingfisher laughs at the faraway thunder
cold under the bridge from depths come shadows spring
once again the alarm has tripped let’s all pretend to sleep
this warm night reminds us of summertime debauchery
sitting on the tip of my shoe the yellow butterfly too begs for adventure
does this signal our end now that the machine god has begun to feel
dark before dawn the spring moon darts from tree to tree
an old man dancing by the silent river maybe you’ll sing to me one day
prep the dream with flesh and summer’s breath
