curled in its shadow the cat dreams of paradise
winter’s grasp the hand that drags you out from the void
a war this body can never win the rain relentless
we become the tales we tell pints full of spite
to the goddess of the deep fishes tow lost souls
moonbound how she vanishes without a word
the morning moon leaves behind her dark
line drawn between fact and fiction contrail divides sky
the faces of the goddess in the pockets of mist
