rain returns and the cat’s watch comes to an end
the rain in the throes of twilight
power trip a sip of dark from the teacup
the storm reveals its name: blackout
uninvited the storm at our door for teatime
injury time the night moth’s wings thunder
the humanist quells his fire with a sip of humanity
night the feral child whose silence spreads like wildfire
limbs carried on salt winds into paradise
