autumn the blood crawls back into limbs
rain outside we cringe at the gecko’s tail swishing
black guards trail behind queen blue butterfly
deep wood junglefowl dances atop its log throne
waterhen chick peeks from its hideout like a thief in the autumn shadows
black butterfly wings beat hard in the blazing field
the river baits us with plastic and secret sermons
laughter of children warms the cold concrete
noon petrichor a loathing dream of grey miasma
