floats down the concrete last autumn leaf
in the grey listening to the birdsong
part foliage part squirrel
the woods wail and starlings scatter
winter in denial
and so the withering begins
tree top tip the perfectly balanced mynah
bodies in limbo morning rain
autumn rooster charges at invisible beings
