from muddy depths turtle fins slap the water
a wave jumps the wall into pale arms
bodies reverberate dockside in the rain
spring the forest takes shape edging closer
spring the blue landscape questions our sanity
rain before dawn breaking night’s spell
forehead to the bark the voices across the land
