summer dawn a black tide rides the blue
dusk across the highway in the faint drizzle
the rain returns another round of gin
the mist blankets the sullen concrete
cordoned off playground ghosts stand and stare
watch the summer snail slide into oblivion
the virus and a greater evil in the tall grass
soft the trail after the rain feet sinks in
dead roach on its back disintegrates with noon
