after dark we vacate this skin soft shell
after dark the mind offers peace as travesty
of its own becoming from dark to darkness
call upon the old gods and madness descends
none to see the struggle beneath skin
dusk prayers we guide ancestors to rest
noon nap traverse the mental tundra
the red deepens in our frail minds
