halfway through the human thought cycle
don’t you look away don’t turn your back on the autumn forest
windless nights to dream with
disintegrate under footfalls autumn baked leaves
within concrete ovens the flesh well done and served tender
soft beckons soft to bed to sleep to whispers and dreams
the landscape turns around and bites you
displaced bodies lost in this fog of war
cushion the fall from grace with more lies
