4am the forest mother calls upon her dark warrior
the weight of the crow’s curse on hunched shadows
nightfall the city is silent and yet i can feel its scheme
paper cut the blood screams out its script
dusk words fail and i fade to my private nirvana
slip between shadow and light to lay by your side
soft to touch the river bends to our will
turning into an alley the damp face of buddha
winter the kingfisher’s laughter drowns out in the drizzle
